Meet the Blogger Behind: Where the Beauty Begins

Hey everyone! Please meet this weeks featured blogger, 19 year old Lola who is the blogger behind the blog: Where the Beauty Begins. Her and I both have something in common, we both enjoy the ever so nice to look at brother duo of Damon and Stefan from the Vampire Diaries. Admittedly they were the only reason I started watching the show way back when lol. I hope that you will give Lola a warm welcome and enjoy getting to know her and her blog from her answers to the questions below.

1.      What or who inspired you to create your blog?

Having a blog has always been something I wanted to do, ever since I was younger I always had an interest in the world of Youtubing and Blogging. Unfortunately, I did not have the confidence to create my blog until I got into College and that is where I got my inspiration from. I was surrounded by a few people that would encourage me to start a YouTube channel or create a blog and many people would often compliment my makeup game, so I thought why not create my blog and finally start doing something I enjoy!

2.      What is your #1 favourite thing about blogging and why?

My favourite thing about blogging is the creating stage! Though it is a lot of hard work and I often find myself going crazy or running out of ideas, I still love it! Like I will sit and get so excited about writing my new post and my problem with life and college just simply slips to the back of my mind. Blogging has become such an important part of my life that is my main source of distracting myself from my first world problems.

3.      What main topics do you blog about?

My blog is mainly based on beauty. I also brought an Idea to my blog called Tantrum Thursday but I am still deciding on turning it into a YouTube sort of thing.

4.      When you’re not blogging, what do you enjoy doing?

I love reading! When I am not blogging or obsessing over Instagram models, there’s always a book in my hand. I remember mentioning to one of my friends that I read, and believe me when I say he almost had a heart attack, he was so shocked!

5.      What has been your favourite place to visit and explore?

I actually don’t have a favourite place to visit and explore, I am opened to any suggestions.

6.      Do you blog as a hobby or is it your job?

I blog as a hobby but I am so ready to turn it into Job! Imagine getting paid to blog? Erm yes, please!

7.      Where would you like to take your blog in 5 years?

In 5 years, I want my blog to be big! There are so many things I want to achieve with my blog and all I pray is that I don’t lose patience! I really hope I can have a proper blog name in 5 years, I would love to own my blog and remove the blogspot.ie so it would just be WhereTheBeautyBegins.com! I would like for people to be like omg you are WhereTheBeautyBegins before someone says oh this is Lola.

8.      What has been the hardest thing that you’ve encountered since you began blogging?

I have faced a lot of difficulties since I have started my blog that has led me to say ok that’s it I quit so many times! Being a college student takes up a lot of time that left me with so little time to focus on my blog. As I haven’t been a blogger for a long time, I knew it was important to constantly have a new blog post for my readers to read.

9.      From your experience, what’s one tip that you would give to a new blogger?

The one tip I would give to a new blogger is to not COMPARE themselves to bloggers that have been blogging for a LONG PERIOD! This was my biggest challenge, I was always comparing my blog to other bloggers that have been blogging for 5 years or more! Growing a blog takes time and hard work and if you are willing to work hard then you will eventually start to see the growth of your blog!

10.What are your top 3 must watch TV shows?

Vampire Diaries- erm hello Damon and Stefan!

How I met your mother, yes I know it’s old but I only started watching it so don’t judge.

The originals

11. What is something about you or that you that makes you unique?

To be honest, I really don’t know! I am still finding that out.

12. Do you have a historical or currently living icon that you look up to? Why?

Ever since I was around 14, I looked up to Justin Bieber oh God I know a lot of people will probably hate me now... I am sorry okay! I always admired the way he came from such a poor background and now he is able to make something out of himself! From having no money to being one of the richest teen in the world, life goals or what?

13. What is the one blog post that you are the most proud of hitting the publish button on?

The blog post that I am most proud of hitting publish on is my first ever post, Lord knows how many time I hesitated on hitting that publish button! But honestly, I think my favourite and possible my reader’s favourite too was my Dare To Be Different post! It was none beauty related and I am hoping to write more post like it.

14. What is your favourite season and the one thing that you look forward to during it each year?

My Favourite season has to be summer! I officially dislike winter, I have been so sick! One thing I am looking forward to is definitely going to the beach, I hope I’m not the only one getting my summer body ready.

Thank you Lola for sharing some things about yourself and your blog and I couldn't agree more with you about your answer to question #9. That is something that I always struggled with and seems to be a common thing as well.

You can stay in touch with Lola by following her on: TwitterFacebook and Instagram and of course by reading her blog

Stop by next Wednesday for another Meet the Blogger Behind the Blog and meet another amazing blogger.

  3. I think as a new blogger it's always so hard to not compare your blog to others. We tend to use other bloggers and their sites as a blueprint of the sorts. And I think it can be a good thing when you are starting but it's so important to create your own identity so you don't get lost in the shuffle!
