Meet the Blogger Behind: Tiny Infinities

Good morning everyone! If you are in the states I hope you had a fun and safe 4th of July. I spent it at home lounging around doing nothing and then lighting a few fireworks for my son. This weeks featured blogger is 20 year old Melina from the blog Tiny Infinities. She has this 101 in 1001 days list that you can read more about below but it sounds rather interesting.

1.       What or who inspired you to create your blog?
I had been following a ton of blogs over the past few years and after my freshman year of college, I went on a trip to Europe with my cousin for six weeks. We went to 26 cities and 13 countries, it was an unforgettable experience that I shared with my family and friends through blogging. Soon after my trip, I realized I really enjoyed blogging about traveling... but I also thought I would enjoy blogging about fashion and lifestyle things, too! So I gave it a shot and decided to start my own blog!

2.       What is your #1 favorite thing about blogging and why?
I like that it is so personal. I think readers can really tell whether you are being fake just to get views on your site or if you are telling the truth about how you feel about a certain topic. I just write about whatever I would like to read about and hope for the best! Sometimes it doesn't always work out but I learn from my mistakes!

3.       What main topics do you blog about?
Fashion, Lifestyle and Travel! My wardrobe ranges in a bunch of different styles which I really love to mix and match (to a certain extent). However, I just love dressing up (what girl doesn't?!). I love to travel so I wanted to continue my new blog with a travel section since that is really how this whole thing got started in the first place!

4.       When you’re not blogging, what do you enjoy doing?
I am a student at Miami University in Ohio, so when I am not studying or working on my blog, I usually am working out, hanging out with my friends, online shopping or relaxing in my room!

5.       What has been your favorite place to visit and explore?
I love love love London, England. I would pack up everything I own and move there tomorrow with no questions about it. If you ever have the opportunity to go, do it. You won't regret it and you'll want to go back a million times over!

6.       Do you blog as a hobby or is it your job?
Right now, it is just a hobby! I don't know that I have any great plans to make it much other than a hobby because I don't know much about the business side yet, but when I figure it out, I'm sure I would be open to it!

7.       Where would you like to take your blog in 5 years?
Hmm, my blog is relatively new so this is a hard question! However, I hope in five years I have a larger reader base and I am still writing content that I love and would read myself, that's my goal. I don't ever want to start posting things just because someone else asks me to, I want to make sure that my posts relate to me in some way so that my readers know that I am always staying true to myself.

8.       What has been the hardest thing that you’ve encountered since you began blogging?
Creating content. Sometimes, I'll be walking through the library or the grocery store and think "wow that's a great topic for a post" and then I will sit down later that night and think, "what the heck did I say was a good idea earlier today." I have to find a way to always be able to write what I am thinking down for those "ah ha" blogging moments!

9.       From your experience, what’s one tip that you would give to a new blogger?
Be yourself. That quote, "be yourself because everyone else is already taken" is super cheesy but also super accurate. If you aren't genuine, your readers will see that. Be yourself and love what you write and write what you love!

10.   What are your top 3 must watch tv shows?
Desperate Housewives, Breaking Bad, and Gossip Girl (not in any order)

11.   What is something about you or that you that makes you unique?
I don't necessarily have a personal style, per say. I like basic colors that I can mix and match with everything and I usually have pops of trendy pieces here and there. Honestly, I write about whatever comes to my mind and I think others would possibly be interested in. Oh, and I don't have a middle name (weird, I know).

12.   Do you have a historical or currently living icon that you look up to? Why?
If I had to pick one, it'd have to be Margaret Thatcher. I mean, come on, she is like the queen of politics. Not that I am too interested in politics, I just appreciate that when she had something to say, she said it no matter what backlash she received. I admire that about her. Though she wasn't the most loved Prime Minister, she got stuff done. Which is I think most admirable of all. She overcame adversity in order to try and make the world a better place, kudos to her.

13.   What is the one blog post that you are the most proud of hitting the publish button on?
I love my first outfit post. I worked so long and so very hard on it to make it perfect, I still love how it turned out!

14.   What is your favorite season and the one thing that you look forward to during it each year?
My favorite season would definitely have to be fall. I own more sweaters than I am willing to admit and I love wearing my favorites on repeat throughout the fall and early winter. Not to mention, Miami University (where I attend college) has one of the most beautiful fall season's I've ever witnessed in my life.

15.   Is there anything else that you would like to share about yourself, your life or your blog?
I am just starting out but I created a 101 in 1001 list that I am super excited about. http://www.tinyinfinitiesblog.com/101-in-1001-3/ ... I basically set a goal for myself to accomplish 101 tasks in 1001 days, which is a little over 2.75 years. I am so excited to begin and see what the next 2.75 years has in store for me. Follow along, I will be checking off my tasks as I go along!

Cheers, everyone!
