Meet the Blogger Behind: Little Lookbook
Happy Meet the Blogger Wednesday. But this week we are getting to meet 17 year old Jessika and her blog Little Lookbook which is definitely worth a read as I rather enjoy it and what she blogs about.
1. What or who inspired you to create your blog?
Ever since I was little I’ve loved writing, photography and fashion and I wanted a place where I could put my creativity to use. I have a couple of friends who are blogging, they gave me the inspiration and that little push I needed to start.
2. What is your #1 favorite thing about blogging and why?
Definitely the community. Everyone in the blogging community is so lovely, supportive and welcoming. We’re to 100% each other’s little cheerleaders. I think a big misunderstanding is that bloggers are stuck up people who only care about themselves. That’s nowhere near the truth! Everyone from the blogging as well as vlogging community I’ve met and talked to has been the loveliest.
3. What main topics do you blog about?
My main topic is fashion and I think it always will be. Inspiration as well, not sure if that counts as an actual topic, though. I’m also slightly branding out to travel more and more which is exciting.
4. When you’re not blogging, what do you enjoy doing?
I don’t tink a lot of people know this, but I’m a horse girl. Since I was 7 years old I’ve taking riding lessons, I don’t have my own horse (I wish, though!) but I spend two to three days a week at the stable. Apart from that it’s just the usual, I like spending time with my friends, I try (but fail) to shrink my pile of to-be-read books, listen to music and catch up on way too many TV shows.
Gran Canaria with my family in 2010. I miss the warm weather and the brilliant food. Totally fell in love with the chocolate ice cream, not going to lie.
6. Do you blog as a hobby or is it your job?
It’s just a hobby for me & I want to keep it that way. Would probably fall out of love with blogging if I started to think of it as a job.
7. Where would you like to take your blog in 5 years?
I want my blog to grow with me, that it won’t always be a corner of the internet where a student voices her opinion on fashion whenever she has time to. Hopefully, my blog gives me the opportunity to work with either fashion, travel or photography; that would be the dream. I actually have no idea what the future will bring for either me or Little Lookbook, all I know is that I’m positive.
8. What has been the hardest thing that you’ve encountered since you began blogging?
For me, it has been hard to not compare myself with others. Despite being the loveliest and most welcoming, the blogging community is huge and it’s easy to feel like what you do isn’t good enough because someone else is always better. I feel like everyone I’ve talked to has also encountered this and it’s hard in the beginning but you learn to ignore those thoughts after a while.
9. From your experience, what’s one tip that you would give to a new blogger?
Keep doing your thing and trust your guts. Ask yourself "Is this me? Do I truly like this? Does this feel right?" and if the answer is yes then go for it.
10. What are your top 3 must watch tv shows?
Hm… That’s a hard one because I watch and love so many shows but I have to say NCIS: Los Angeles, Broadchurch and Grey’s Anatomy
11. What is something about you or that you that makes you unique?
I think it’s my personality. I’m a strong believer that every blog is unique and no one is the same because of the blogger’s personality. Just like TV shows/movies, the storyline can be nearly the same but the characters are what makes it unique.
12. Do you have a historical or currently living icon that you look up to? Why?
When it comes to icons I definitely look up to Audrey Hepburn. Both style wise, career wise and personality wise. I also look up to Olivia Palermo and Kate Middleton and blogging wise I look up to Sara from Harper & Harley, Margaret from Shine By Three and Sarah Mikaela from Framboise Fashion. I love their style and all of them are classy, elegant and professional in their own way.
13. What is the one blog post that you are the most proud of hitting the publish button on?
Right now I think it’s my blog post about Anno’s Africa. My friend Anna is a dancer and she found this CNN article about kids in the slum area in Nairobi, Kenya who learned ballet from the people at Anno’s Africa. She contacted me and wondered if I could help her with a fundraiser and do the marketing so that we could help the organization.
14. What is your favorite season and the one thing that you look forward to during it each year?
I love autumn, it’s my favourite season of the year. I love all the colours and that you can buddle up in sweaters, scarfs and knitted socks. I guess the only bad thing about autumn is that it means it will get colder and darker. I really hate the coldness and that you basically won’t be able to see the sun for a couple of months.
15. Is there anything else that you would like to share about yourself, your life or your blog?
Just like I said in the beginning, I’ve always loved writing and photography. I’m actually a huge bookworm and while other kids were dreaming of becoming a police or rock star, I wanted to become an author and tell stories. I think that’s also what sparked my love for photography. It’s kind of a cliché I guess, but a picture actually says a lot. You can capture a moment and look back at it later on and remember exactly how it was.
Have a great day,
